Sunday Afternoon...
I'm sitting here in the computer room with the window cracked and I'm wearing one of my Virginia Tech hoodies. There's a nip in the air and the leaves are falling. I can hear the tinkle of the wind chimes mixing with the fallen leaves as the breeze dashes by the window. The sky is devoid of clouds and the sky is a brilliant blue. I'm sipping my Sierra Mist Free Cranberry Splash soda...savoring the taste of the seasonal flavor.
This morning I got up, read through the newspaper, then bundled up for the gym. I did 60 minutes on the elliptical followed by 40 minutes on the treadmill. I was sweaty and drained, but had a feeling of accomplishment. When I got home and weighed-in, I noticed that I had gained 2 pounds and 0.6% bodyfat. I'm hoping that the gain is the more consistent workout routine. Last week was great in the gym...I managed to hold steady, if not go up, with most of my weights. Working out with Jeff allows me to work harder and be more motivated.
Friday night I went and saw a performance of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" at the college. My friend Jamie was playing Malvolio. A whole group of us showed up for the performance and sat together in the back of the small college auditorium. The show was very good and well worth the five dollars.
Yesterday, I had a day of shopping with Mom. In addition to my regular weekly grocery shopping, I took Mom down to Wilmington to browse. We got some craft stuff at Michaels, then went to the Hallmark Gold Crown store to stock up on holiday cards, then off to Barnes & Noble where I renewed my membership card, got a drink, and some gift cards and books. Afterwards, we drove over to Kohl's and I ended up getting a tan cable knit crew neck sweater and two pair of slip-on leather shoes (brown & black). On the way home, we stopped in Long John Silver's and had dinner. It's been years since I ate at LJS...it was very good.
